Presenting SMF Links Directory v2.0:

As you all know we have a SMF Links Directory a powerful Links Directory Mod that allows you to have a fully functional directory of links with Categories, Link Info, Permissions and Full Control over the submitted links including Reported Links and Links Awaiting Approval.

The v1.0 branch of the Links Directory has the basic functions that should be included in a regular Links Directory but some features were missed and we always think in how we can improve our mods to make it better and finally we're proud to announce that a new branch including a lot of amazing features has been finally included in the latest release of this mod, the most powerful mod is here!.

Price & Upgrade:

You maybe wondering if there are any changes in how the mod is distribuited but you have nothing to worry about, the mod maintain the current price (that is pretty cheap for a php script)  and additionally old customers of this powerful mod doesn't need to pay anything they have normal access to the v2.0 and the upgrade process is so simple you only need to uninstall the installed version and then install the new package, this new packages comes with an upgrader of database so everything is quiclky done in the installation.

What's New:

We have always in mind how our mods can be even more powerful and useful for Admins, as SMF itself, we want to improve our mods without make any issues to the Admin, all the new features are easy to use and expand the powerful of this great mod, so let's go for parts and see what's new in this v2.0:

   
• Custom Fields: This is one of the main new features of the v2.0, this new feature expand all the funcitonality of the Links Directory and can be useful for a lot of purposes, specially, knowing that this features comes with a lot of options like Required Field, Type of Field (Checkboxes, Radio Buttons, Select Dropdown, Textarea, Textbox), Categories when is available, Custom Position and more.
• Permission Profiles: Each category has it's own Permission Profile (Just like the Permission Profiles on each SMF Board) and each Permission Profile has it's own custom permissions for each membergroup so you can easily assign the same permissions for various categories using the same Permission Profile this has been done to expand the control of administrators over the Links Directory.
• Membergroups Access per Categories: Now we have included another feature to categories, in the v1.3 we included a lot of options to categories including unlimitied subcategories and redirection categories but we want to expand the control over each category an in addition to the Permission Profiles we have added the option to select which Membergroups have access for each category this has been included in all the areas where links are showned to respect this setting so it's impossible to see something you don't have access to.
• Bans for Links Directory: Sometimes we have annoying members that doesn't respect rules or they just don't understand what is allowed in specific areas, thinking in that, we have included Bans in this new release, this feature comes with two types of bans. Full Ban or Partial Ban where you can ban member for specific areas of the Directory additionally you can set (or not) an expiration based on days for the ban also a reason can be included letting know the user why he was banned.
• Enhanced Template: Curve is a pretty nice theme so we need a fully integrated mod that looks great on it (and in other themes too) thinking in that some templates has been modified in order to go with the new Curve style that was changed in SMF 2.0 RC3 however this mod looks great on SMF 2.0 RC2 too so if you are using this old version you can use this powerful mod but we suggest that you should upgrade to RC3.
• Better Performance: In the past we made the mod just thinking that it should work but in this new version we have enhanced and skipped a lot of queries in order to have a better performance, the new features needs new queries but these has been optimized using the same techniques and cache has been included in a lot of areas with the idea of skip queries that aren't need it to be done in each load, these has been done using the SMF Cache Functions so it's used only if it's enabled in the SMF Admin Panel.
• Enhanced Permissions: In the past you have control of all the Links Directory but you didn't have control of each category and more areas, thinking in that new permissions has been added and guests now have almost   the same permissions that registered members have in addition to Bans, Permissions Profiles and Membergroups per Categories you have control of everything.
• Move Links to New Category: Sometimes you want to just delete a category and not it's links thinking in that we have included a new and pretty useful option to quiclky move all the links of a category that is going to be deleted to a new category but obviouslly if you want you can also delete the links inside the category additionally now the mod deletes all the info related to the links in the category.
• Remodded Admin Panel: Admin Panel has been totally remodded, now it includes a Admin Center pretty similar to the SMF Administration Panel, settings has been splitted, new options has been added, Links Directory now has it's own section in the SMF Admin Panel and more.
• There is more: More things has been added (and changed) in this new version, v2.0 has been installed in this website so you can test it here, new screenshots has been uploaded to gallery and a lot of bugs has been fixed you can upgrade or order this new release to see all the new stuff.

We're sure that you're going to love this mod, if you want (or need) a Links Mod with all the features that you can need and more this is the best option for you also we're happy to announce that two new mods are going to be released based in this new release of Links Directory but we aren't going to give any detail about it until we have a progress in both mods. Thanks for let me know it, it was an error for some modifications that I did in the past is working now

The free version of this mod has no feature at all. I think the best is to go for the paid version.

It has no advanced features, and you won't have a real rich links directory with it, but it's an start, obviously PRO is the way to go if you want to do it right
