SMFPacks Makes SMF Better!

Discussion started on Feedbacks

DanWallace

I gave up on forums a few years ago because everyone was getting hooked on Facebook and Twitter. Now, many of my friends are becoming disillusioned with them due to constant ads, spamming by fake profiles, censorship they feel is unwarranted, etc. So I have decided to re-introduce them to old-school forums.

I own high-end forum software like vBulletin, but I really like and prefer SMF because of the ability to tailor it to my specific needs. That's where SMFPacks come in. For example, everyone these days seems to be using a smart phone. The SMFPacks Nebula theme is not only clean and professional looking, it easily recognizes and properly displays every size screen from desktop to smart phones.

To avoid spam and fake profiles, I want to set my forum to invitation only membership, but I don't want to have to constantly be trying to screen everyone who applies. SMFPacks "Invitation System" allows me to set the forum to "forced invitation," so only those who are invited by current members can join.

I also want my members to have the ability to create private rooms for specialty discussions like - Family, Co-workers, Hobbies, etc. The SMFPacks "Social Groups" mod makes this an easy addition to the forum. The member who creates the Group decides who can view/post in the group.

These are just a few examples of how SMFPacks makes your SMF forum much more powerful, versatile, and easy to use. In my opinion, you don't 'want' SMFPacks mods, you NEED them!

Keep up the good work, guys!

Daniel.
